Privacy Policy
Effective 2 July 2026. Plain English, no legalese padding.
Who's responsible
Rabbit Rabbit Ltd (UK) is the data controller for MeMeow. Questions or requests: support@memeow.app.
What we collect
- Account details — email address, display name, country, and an optional profile photo. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
- Content you create — posts, photos, comments, cat profiles, likes, follows, bookmarks, and reports.
- Technical basics — the logs any web service generates (IP address, browser type, pages requested), used for security and to keep the site running.
We don't run advertising trackers, and we currently use no analytics tools at all.
Why we use it
- To provide the service you signed up for — your account, your posts, the feed (performance of a contract).
- To keep the community safe — moderation, rate limits, and abuse prevention (legitimate interests).
- To send you service emails, such as notification digests you can switch off in settings (legitimate interests / consent).
We never sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone except the service providers below.
Who processes it for us
- Clerk — sign-in and account security.
- Convex — our database and photo/video storage.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Resend — transactional email (when email sending is switched on).
Some of these providers are based in the United States; transfers are covered by standard contractual safeguards under UK GDPR. If we add a provider (for example, analytics or AI image generation), we'll update this policy first.
How long we keep it
Your account data and content stay while your account is open. Close your account and we delete your personal data within 30 days, keeping only what we're legally required to hold (for example, moderation records for safety obligations).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or ask for it in a portable format. Email support@memeow.app and we'll respond within a month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we've got something wrong.
Children
MeMeow is for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from younger children; if you believe a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we'll remove it.
Cookies
Covered separately in our Cookie Policy. Short version: essential sign-in cookies plus one referral cookie — no advertising or analytics cookies.
